Todd Meadows Was 25 Years Old At The Time Of His Passing

Meadows lost his life back in February. At the time, he had fallen overboard while crabbing on the Aleutian Lady in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska.

Reportedly, Meadows’ family is filing a wrongful death lawsuit on his behalf. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, they are trying to open his probate estate and are looking to hold someone responsible for what happened.

At this time, it is unclear who will be named as a defendant in the lawsuit. The family previously told the outlet that they do not want the Discovery Channel to air footage of the accident.

Speaking with the outlet, Todd’s mother, Angela Meadows, shared, “We don’t want to put the blame on anyone, but someone has to take responsibility. We will have justice for Todd.”

Todd’s Family Started A GoFundMe Campaign To Help His Three Young Sons

Capt. Rick Shelford previously announced the news of Meadows’ passing on social media. At the time, he wrote, “February 25, 2026, was the most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady on the Bering Sea. We lost our brother, Todd Meadows.”

He continued, “Todd was the newest member of our crew. He quickly became family. His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone’s respect right away. His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always.”

As Shelford concluded the post, “Todd will forever be part of this boat, this crew, and this brotherhood. Though we lost him far too soon, his legacy will live on through his children and in every memory we carry of him. Rest easy, brother, till we meet again.”

In addition, Todd’s family had also started a GoFundMe campaign to help support Meadow’s children in light of what happened. As the post noted, Todd had been survived by three young sons.
