My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Glenn Thore Was Wrong To Hide Whitney’s Half-Sister Angie (He Hurt His Family)

Glenn Thore from My Big Fat Fabulous Life didn’t do the right thing by keeping his illegitimate child Angie Vincent a secret from his daughter, Whitney Thore. The reality TV series has showcased various memorable and shocking moments since its debut in 2015. However, the program became very surprising this year due to multiple reveals surrounding Whitney’s father, Glenn Thore. During the first few episodes of season 11, Whitney and her brother Hunter Thore learned that their dad had a past relationship before he met their mother. They discovered that Glenn had a girlfriend and a daughter with her.
The drama began when Whitney’s aunt Kim submitted her DNA results on an ancestry discovery website. Her profile matched her with Cody, who contacted her, claiming she was related to his mother, Angie. Kim was shocked by the revelations but took time to gather more information. Ultimately, she concluded that Cody’s mother wasn’t related to her but to her brother, Glenn. Whitney learned of this big reveal and confronted her father about it. During one of the episodes, Glenn admitted to being Angie’s dad and shared the complete story.
Glenn Thore Didn’t Raise Whitney’s Secret Half-Sister (Who’s Angie’s Mom?)
Jackie Parented Angie
Glenn was serving somewhere in Pensacola when he met Angie’s mother, Jackie. The two young souls instantly connected, sparking a romance akin to the love stories featured in vintage spy movies. Glenn and Jackie dated briefly and got intimate. However, the American man’s job pushed him away from her, leading to their breakup. Glenn left Jackie soon after their short-lived relationship. He had no idea that she was pregnant with his child.
Glenn learned about Jackie’s pregnancy when he was in Japan. He couldn’t do anything about it due to his job.
When Jackie’s mother learned about her daughter’s pregnancy, things got extremely tense. She didn’t know what to do next, so she put her teenage daughter in a girls’ home. Jackie and Glenn’s daughter Angie was born in the girls’ home, and put up for adoption soon after.
The baby was taken in by another family and had a nice upbringing. So many caring and kind people choose to adopt. It’s a wonderful thing to do.
During episode 7 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life season 11, Whitney, Hunter, and Glenn visited Angie and her family in Alabama. They got along well, instantly embracing each other as relatives. Angie also accepted Glenn as a father figure. However, she claimed she wouldn’t call him dad, as she uses that term to describe the man who raised her, Bill.
Glenn Thore Robbed Whitney Of Years With Her Half-Sister
Glenn Shouldn’t Have Kept Angie A Secret
Glenn certainly seems like the culprit in this family drama. After all, he got a teenage girl pregnant and left her on her own. He did so for the sake of his career. However, Glenn doesn’t deserve all the blame for doing what he did. Like Angie’s mother, Jackie, Glenn was also young and unprepared to be a father. By the time Glenn matured enough to be a proper father to Angie, it was too late. She had probably been adopted, so he moved on.
Glenn knew he had a daughter, but he was consumed with growing his family with his lovely wife, Babs Thore. The North Carolina man didn’t try to find Angie, and decided not to tell his kids about her. Glenn made that choice to keep his life stable, but he robbed Whitney and Hunter of years with their half-sister. As a result,
Whitney grew up without knowing that she had a biological sister. Thankfully, she’s met her now, and the two seem to have a good connection. While it’s a shame that they weren’t close earlier, they can enjoy their time together now.

Was Glenn Thore Trying To Save Face?
Glenn Could’ve Been Ashamed Of His Actionsa few possible reasons why Glenn may have hidden the truth about having a daughter. However, the most obvious reason is that he was focused on Babs, Whitney, Hunter, and other relatives. Glenn has been an honorable man for his entire life. He has worked hard to give his family members a good life.
Not only do people respect him, but they feel that he’s an excellent and admirable role model. The My Big Fat Fabulous Life star’s a nice guy who valued his wife, Babs.
Since Glenn has such a great reputation, it would have been hard for him to discuss his past life with his wife, daughter, and son. He may have felt ashamed of himself for not being around Angie. It’s also possible that Glenn was afraid of telling the truth. He may have thought it would ruin his image in front of his family. Glenn wanted to be a great husband to Babs (and a great father to Whitney) for as long as he could. Therefore, he was trying to focus on one part of his life without discussing the other.

Whitney & Angie Spend Quality Time Together
Glenn’s actions caused Whitney and Angie to lose out on relationships that might’ve grown over the last three decades. The two women are basically strangers when they could have built something greater together. Thankfully, neither Whitney nor Angie have anything bad to say about Glenn, who hid the truth. Instead, they are happy to get acquainted. The two sisters are creating a bond, based on their scenes in the latest episodes of My Big Fat Fabulous Life. They plan to get closer through the coming years.
During episode 7, Angie and Whitney shared numerous heartfelt moments. At one point, Angie hugged her reality star sister, saying she could relate to her grief over losing Babs. Glenn Thore May Reveal More About Angie
My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 12 Just Premiered
Whitney recently shared that her father, Glenn Thore, will be a part of My Big Fat Fabulous Life season 12. The new season premiered on July 9. Episode 1 is called, “Since You Been Gone.” Here is the episode 1 description, as per Prime Video:
On the cusp of turning 40, a newly-single Whitney finds herself stuck on the sidelines, watching as her friends celebrate life’s most joyous milestones. With no time to waste, Whitney must decide what she wants her next chapter to look like
So, Whitney’s at a crossroads after some big life changes, including discovering her long-lost-sibling. On Father’s Day, she honored her Dad, whom she clearly adores, and let fans know that he’d be a part of the new installment’s premiere. As per Whitney’s Instagram, she said:
“If y’all need your Glenn fix, he’ll be back on your screens July 9 at 9 pm for the season 12 premiere. 😊”
Hopefully, the season will reveal more information about the bartender Angie, whose existence rocked the My Big Fat Fabulous Life franchise. In the past, fans have called out Whitney for being entitled and childish. They don’t always appreciate the way the bold Aries woman puts herself first. One of them, D One, referenced Whitney’s secret half-sister, writing:
There’s the chance that building a stronger bond with Angie will open Whitney’s heart, making her more considerate of others. Aries women like Whitney are known for their warlike attitudes. They come alive in battle – they often enjoy fighting. Also, an Aries is the “newborn” of the zodiac, as Aries is the very first sign. So, quite often, women born under this sign have a childlike air. They grab what they want and throw a fit if they don’t get what they want.
The flip side of Aries selfishness is the desire to be a hero for other people. A warmhearted Aries loves to rescue others. Also, the pioneering Sun sign loves to blaze new trails. That’s why Whitney’s been so innovative and disruptive.
She started a fitness company even though being overweight is what she’s primarily known for. Of course, women of all shapes and sizes should be able to enjoy exercising without shame. So, Whitney has strengths and weaknesses, and with a new half-sister and turmoil in her love life, season 12 promises to be exciting.
Whitney’s Celebrating A New My Big Fat Fabulous Life Costar
Meet “Miss Evie”
As she gets to know her half-sister better, Whitney‘s getting to know someone else too – an adorable baby girl named Evie. Watch Whitney and Glenn spend some quality time with the baby above, as per Whitney’s Instagram. Whitney didn’t seem spoiled or selfish when she cuddled the baby – she looked like she loved hanging out with the infant. Whitney wrote in her caption:
We missed Allison, Buddy, and Courtney, but the newest star of #MyBigFatFabLife enjoyed her debut and we are all so in love with Miss Evie ✨ Thanks for hanging out with us for the start of season 12!
Whitney’s afraid that she’s missed her chance to have a baby. That might not be true, but it’s always possible that she won’t have a child. She watched exes build families and that must have been painful for her. However, when Angie entered her life, she had a chance to build a new bond that may be something she treasures. The more love Whitney has in her love, the greater the odds of her happiness, baby or not.
Angie and Whitney will certainly overcome the years of sisterhood they’ve lost. The only thing Glenn’s concerned about is Whitney’s competitive nature, which might ruin her relationship with her much younger niece and nephews. Hopefully, the new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life will end on a positive note. Whitney needs to find a new direction in life, as she adjusts to all the changes that unfolded during season 11.
