Tammy & Amy Slaton’s Cousin Broke The Tragic News On Social Media

Many fans were introduced to members of the Slaton family through the TLC series 1000-lb Sisters. The show chronicled Tammy and Amy Slaton as they pursued their weight loss journey with the world.

Through the show, fans were also introduced to extended members of the family. Recently, news had come out about a death in the family, which followed another tragic loss.

Taking to social media, Jeremiah Slaton shared that the family recently lost another member. As it read, “I’m at a [loss for] words! I’m numb and just confused! My brother had a massive heart attack and passed away last night! My sister’s death was too much for him!” In the comments, Jeremiah’s brother was identified as Jesse or “Jess.”

As the message noted, this news comes out after Katie Slaton’s passing was previously announced. As noted by her obituary, she “passed away Monday August 25, 2025 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.”

Jesse was also recently named in Katie’s obituary. At the time, he was said to be married to Erica, with them being of Morganfield, Kentucky.

The 1000-lb. Sisters Family Also Recently Broke The News Of Another Loved One’s Passing This Past Week

Jesse and Katie were cousins to 1000-lb. Sisters stars Tammy and Amy Slaton. Around a week prior, Amanda Halterman took to social media to ask fans to send prayers for Katie in a post on Instagram.

At the time, she wrote, “Please, whisper a prayer for our family as we continue to support Katie Slaton. I am so thankful to be allowed to stand by your side.”

The day following this post, Amanda shared the tragic news of Katie’s passing. At the time, she wrote, “It I with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this. My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday.”

On social media, many fans shared their condolences after learning about Jesse’s passing. Many touched on the tragedy of losing members of the family so close together. Comments also appeared to come from people who knew Jesse. Some comments included:
