With the season 2 finale of High Potential right around the corner, the question on everyone’s mind becomes—will there be a third season?
High Potential is a gripping drama series that weaves together family, mystery, and suspense. The show follows Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson), a devoted mother with an exceptional mind and high IQ, with a knack for solving crimes, who takes a job as a consultant for the LAPD, pairing up with by-the-book detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). She’s also a mom of three who is haunted by the disappearance of her daughter Ava’s father, a case she is determined to solve by leveraging the connections in her new gig.

And, of course, season two brought to light some romance, with a steamy kiss shared between Morgan and her possibly corrupt boss, Captain Nick Wagner (Steve Howey), who has grown on fans, though many are still wondering if anything will ever happen between Morgan and Karadec, despite his girlfriend Lucia (Susan Kelechi Watson) being in the picture again.

Will High Potential Return for Season 3?

Yes! The good news is your favorite detectives and consultants aren’t going anywhere!

On March 3, it was announced that the series was renewed for a third season.

“The case isn’t closed ,” the caption on Instagram read, alongside a video of the cast sharing the exciting news.

“#HighPotential has been renewed for Season 3! Who’s excited?” the message concluded.

Fans were thrilled, with many making requests in the comment section, such as, “let’s go ahead and renew it for seasons 4-10 as well” and “Hear me out…. Longer seasons.”
“I’m so addicted to this show. I never want it to end. ” another mused, with another chiming in, “As y’all should be! This show was an instant fave! Congrats on season 3, faves!!!”

One Major Change Is Coming to High Potential Season 3

Much isn’t known about the upcoming season, which will likely return as part of ABC’s fall season. The second season is airing its finale on Tuesday, April 7, giving the cast plenty of time to take a much-deserved break before jumping back into filming.

One change that’s definitely happening? The hit is losing its showrunner despite the season 3 renewal and impressive ratings.

Per US Weekly, Todd Harthan exited the show to focus on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Christopher Paolini’s YA book series The Inheritance Cycle, titled Eragon.

Hopefully, the new showrunner will be able to tap into the magic the series has created for two seasons to give us an outstanding third season.
