A cancer journey is a journey no one ever wants to go on, nor do they think they ever will until it happens to them. A popular Bachelorette star was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer earlier this year. She has shared the highs and lows of the fight for her life with fans. But a recent setback took the lows too low. She’s asking fans for help. What’s going on?

Bachelorette Star Has Sad Cancer Update

Bachelor Nation fans fell in love with Katie Thurston on Season 25 of The Bachelor. Matt James didn’t. He sent Katie home midway through the season but she rebounded as the next Bachelorette.

Her engagement to Blake Moynes only lasted a few months after the show. She went on to have several other public romances. Katie Thurston finally found her future husband in comedian Jeff Arcuri. They eloped in March after a devastating health diagnosis.

The Bachelorette star was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in February after finding a lump in her breast. The cancer spread to her liver. She’s on several medications to battle the cancer. Katie Thurston undergoes routine tests to see if the medication is working or not.

She was optimistic ahead of her latest tests. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the news she was expecting. She shares all her health updates on the Boobie Broadcast channel she created on Instagram.

Katie Thurston revealed in her latest update that the tests showed elevated liver enzymes. She decreased the dosage of one medication before the tests to reduce the side effects. It seems that lowering the dosage increased her liver enzymes.

One fan explained on social media what the test results meant. “Her AST and ALT came back elevated, which is bad news because she went down on the dosage of her medication to help with that. She has to be on medication for the rest of her life so if her liver can’t handle this one that’s a problem,” they wrote.

Katie Thurston has been very clear that she will be on medication for the rest of her life, even after having a double mastectomy soon.

Katie Thurston Asks For Help

To make matters worse, Katie Thurston had to deal with the test results on her own. She moved from San Diego, California, to New York City earlier this year to live with her husband. But he’s back on tour overseas for a while.

The Bachelorette star worried fans with the latest update. Katie Thurston, who usually shares everything in great detail, wrote that she was “too sad to type much.”

The test results came days after a social media hoax that claimed she was dead. Katie Thurston is thankfully very much alive, but she asked fans for help. She requested any “helpful feedback” anyone has about the elevated liver enzymes or battling cancer in general.

Katie Thurston’s fans rallied around her in her time of need. One fan wrote, “Sending so much love to her in this time and will be wearing my pink all month.”
