Friday’s episode of Emmerdale saw Dr Todd take early retirement but spoilers next week reveal she’s staying firmly put in the village

Emmerdale spoilers for next week reveal Dr Todd’s next move in the village.
Earlier this year, Doctor Todd, played by Caroline Harker, reprised her role as boss to trainee doctor Jacob Sugden, played by Joe-Warren Plant.
However, Dr Todd has pushed Jacob to his absolute limits in a distressing workplace bullying storyline. The stakes have been raised further with Dr Todd installing herself in the village, blurring the lines between Jacob’s professional and private life.
Dr Todd has even started bad mouthing Jacob in the village, as well as striking up a close bond with Vanessa Woodfield. Only recently, Jacob reported Dr Todd to HR but before he could make a formal complaint, Dr Todd got in before him and fabricated evidence to support her ‘complaint’.

Friday’s episode aired Dr Todd and Jacob’s HR meeting outcome, where it was revealed that Dr Todd is taking early retirement. Realising he won’t have to face Dr Todd at work anymore, Jacob decides to withdraw his application to focus on his family.

Meanwhile, Dr Todd told Vanessa that Jacob’s ‘harassment’ was the reason for her premature retirement, leaving Vanessa shocked.
In spoilers for next week, it reveals Dr Todd’s next move as she targets Charity Dingle. In upcoming scenes, Dr Todd is attending her father’s funeral and Jacob begins to worry the feud with Dr Todd may have gone a little too far.

Feeling guilty and hoping to move on despite Dr Todd being in the wrong, Jacob visits her home to offer condolences for her father’s funeral and apologises for their past conflict.
Dr Todd accepts the apology to which Jacob dares to hope that they’ve made progress. However, later, Dr Todd cruelly suggests to Jacob that she’s privy to a secret that could make his life hellish.
Meanwhile, Charity panics to learn Dr Todd’s been alluding to her secret in front of Jacob and advises Jacob to give Dr Todd a wide berth.

Elsewhere, Mary Goskirk plays matchmaker and pushes Vanessa to ask out Dr Todd to which they set up a date. During their date, Dr Todd tells Vanessa she has received a letter revealing she’s inherited her dad’s home in Matlock but Vanessa worries the distance will jeopardise any potential relationship, suggesting they should just be friends.
However, Dr Todd declares she can’t move until she’s raised some funds, and begins to form a plan. Laer, in the beer garden, Dr Todd warns Charity she has definitive proof Charity and Ross are Leyla’s genetic parents and demands she pay her to keep the secret.
