My Big Fat Fabulous Life’s Whitney Begins Her Search for a Sperm Donor — and Shares What She’s Looking for (Exclusive)

Whitney Way Thore is beginning a new journey — motherhood.

In the season 13 premiere of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, the reality TV star embarks on her search to find a sperm donor and begin the process to welcoming a little one. In a clip shared exclusively with PEOPLE ahead of the premiere on Tuesday, July 1, Whitney describes what exactly she’s looking for.

The scene begins with Whitney sitting at a table with some friends and going through a sperm database. “Okay filter by personal preferences. K, hair color,” she says as she looks through a few checklists.

“I feel like not red,” one of her friends chimes in.

“I dated a red head!” Whitney says. “Look, I’m not going to be picky. Red’s fine.”

In a confessional, Whitney says that she’s not trying to be picky when it comes to finding a donor.

“My criteria for a donor, I feel like, is pretty straightforward and simple,” she explains. “I absolutely do not care what color this child is, what color the eyes are, the hair is. Obviously I want the person to be healthy with no genetic diseases.”

Back in the scene, Whitney clicks through a few more qualifications, including height. She mentions that she is only choosing people 5’7” and up.

“The only thing is that I’m only 5’2’’ and I just don’t want to bring a child into this world that is as short as me,” Whitney explains. “Because it’s hard being this short.”

As she keeps clicking through the database, Whitney notes that she’s starting to feel overwhelmed by the process.

“Picking a sperm donor is absolutely the most overwhelming thing that I have ever experienced. It is like a dating app on steroids,” she jokes. “I’m picking literally the father of my child, right?”

“And not just a guy for a one night stand,” continues Whitney. “And so more than the physical, I really want to know, do they have a high IQ? You know, is this the brain of somebody I would pick in the wild?”

“How many books has he read? He doesn’t read? I have never been more discouraged in my life,” she says as the clip ends.

Season 13 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life premieres on Tuesday, July 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
