Meri Brown, a key figure in Sister Wives, opened up about her experiences on the long-running TLC series.

“There’s so many good memories,” the 53-year-old exclusively shared with Us Weekly in December. “When I sled down the hill and landed on the other side of the snow berm. I don’t even know what you call it.”

Reflection On The Early Days

Since the show’s debut in 2010, Meri has appeared alongside ex-husband Kody Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown, and Robyn Brown. Reflecting on her journey, Meri revealed that her initial experience in front of the camera was unexpected.

“Just thinking of that very first scene when I was introduced, I didn’t expect the cameras to be there,” she admitted. “I didn’t know they were there. I would’ve been a little bit more prepped.”

When the series began, Kody, now 55, was married to Meri, Janelle (55), and Christine (52), while courting Robyn, whom he married in 2014. Over time, their relationships evolved significantly. Christine and Kody separated in 2021, followed by Janelle’s departure in 2022. Despite the shifts, Meri maintained her sense of humor, hinting that Kody could easily headline a “blooper reel.”

“Just because of all the things that actually come out his mouth should be blooper,” she joked.

While the family has shared much of their lives on screen, Meri has certain boundaries when it comes to on-air discussions.

“I don’t like talking about or hearing other people talking about intimacy, PDA, and finances,” she told Us Weekly. “I think finances is not a necessary conversation.”

As for who spends the most time getting camera-ready, Meri confessed it’s a close call between her and Robyn.

“I always take an hour and a half to get ready,” she said. “Sometimes I’ve done it in 45, but that’s only when I’m staying at home.”

Family Dynamics And Cherished Memories

Despite the dramatic changes in their relationships, Meri, Janelle, and Christine—jokingly dubbed the “ex-wives club”—remain close and continue to prioritize family. Thanksgiving holds a special place in Meri’s heart, as it was often a time when all the children would gather.

“As the kids got older, they would go off and do different things for different holidays,” Meri recalled. “But on Thanksgiving almost everybody was always there.”

Meri and Kody share a son, Leon (29). Kody also has six children with Janelle: Logan (30), Maddie (29), Hunter (27), Gabriel (23), and Savannah (20), as well as their late son Garrison, who passed away in March at age 25. With Christine, Kody shares six more children: Aspyn (29), Mykelti (28), Paedon (26), Gwendlyn (23), Ysabel (21), and Truely (14). Meanwhile, Kody and Robyn have two children together, Solomon (13) and Ariella (8), and he adopted Robyn’s three children from her previous marriage: David (24), Aurora (22), and Breanna (20).

Meri also shared her thoughts on family traditions, adding that Christine is the best cook among the wives, though she’s had a few culinary missteps.

“She’s made some really amazing dishes—and a few not-so-great ones,” Meri teased.
